A cartridge producing no vapour has one of about six causes, and they can be eliminated in a fixed order. Working through it takes a couple of minutes and resolves most cases.

One: is the battery actually firing?

Check the indicator. A pen that will not light has a charge or button-lock problem, and most draw-activated pens lock after a set number of rapid clicks.

Charge it fully before going further. A partially charged cell can light and still not deliver enough power to vaporise a thick oil.

Two: clean the connection

Residue on the 510 thread or the centre pin is the most common cause of a dead-seeming setup. A dry cotton bud on both surfaces resolves a large share of cases.

While there, check the centre pin still sits slightly proud. A flattened pin makes intermittent contact with any cartridge, including a platinum vape carts or the pass carts listing that worked yesterday.

Three: loosen it

Over-tightening deforms the pin and can break the circuit entirely. Screw down until it seats and no further — finger-tight is correct.

If loosening a quarter turn makes it fire, that was the fault.

Four: check for a clog

Cooled oil in the airway blocks draw completely. Warm the cartridge in your hand for a few minutes and try a gentle pull with the battery off, to clear the path mechanically.

Do not blow into it. That pushes oil back into the coil and floods it.

Five: raise the voltage

If you have no adjustment, this is the point at which the hardware is the limitation rather than the cartridge.

Six: try a different battery

This is the definitive test. If the cartridge works on another pen, the pen was the fault. If it fails on both, the cartridge is.
